Olive Green Around a Bay Window
The kitchen at Clifton Terrace is planned around a bay window with sash windows on three sides. Its in frame cabinetry is painted olive green, and a fluted Belfast sink with a brass tap sits at the centre of the bay, beneath a white veined worktop and upstand. Cream brick tiles run up the walls to the ceiling.
Along another wall, the hob is set into a tiled recess with a pale veined splashback, between two glazed dressers that stand on the worktop above panelled cupboards. Drawers have polished pull handles, the doors have dark bronze toned knobs and the glazed dressers have copper toned knobs. In the middle of the room, a table island in natural wood stands on square legs, with a pale top and two dovetailed drawers.
The utility is painted a pale grey, with tall double cupboards, wall cupboards lit from beneath, an undermount sink with a brass bridge tap and two black drying racks fixed to a tongue and groove panel. Sylvan Design makes handmade kitchens and utility rooms like these in its own workshop near Horsham, West Sussex, where all painting and finishing is completed before its own team fits them. Like every kitchen we make, Clifton Terrace carries a lifetime guarantee.

A table island is an island made like a piece of furniture, standing on legs rather than on a plinth, so the floor runs beneath it. At Clifton Terrace the table island is made in natural wood, with a pale top and two dovetailed drawers, and stools sit along one side. It gives a working surface in the middle of the room while keeping the space open.

Yes. The Clifton Terrace kitchen is painted olive green, with cream brick tiles, white veined worktops and copper and bronze toned knobs around it, while the utility is a pale grey. We paint in named heritage colours, and at the design stage we give guidance on colours and finishes so that the kitchen suits the light in the room. All painting and finishing is completed in our workshop.

The utility has tall double cupboards, wall cupboards lit from beneath, an undermount sink with a brass bridge tap in a white veined top, and two black drying racks fixed to a tongue and groove panel. We design, make and fit utility and laundry rooms alongside our kitchens, and at the first consultation we talk about what the room needs to hold.
