Kitchen, larder and utility
A Warm Grey Kitchen and Island
Granvilved is a large kitchen, and all of its cabinetry is in frame, painted in Slate II by Paint & Paper Library, a soft warm grey. The handles and knobs are from the Merrick collection by Armac Martin, in satin brass left unlacquered so that it gently darkens with use. The island stands at the centre beneath a thick, double edged top in satin Dolce Vita granite, with a Belfast sink and a brass tap at one end and slender wood panels set into its sides. Facing it, a range cooker sits beneath a painted mantel, against an antiqued mirror splashback.
Much of the storage is behind tall doors. A wall of tall cupboards houses a built in oven and, behind folding doors, a wood lined breakfast cupboard with its own lighting and sockets and a television above. Beside the garden doors stands a glazed dresser with lit cabinets above a built in wine cooler, and close by, a tall larder opens on wood lined shelves, door racks and drawers.
Beyond the kitchen, we made a utility with a Belfast sink and a window seat, and a long run of tall cupboards and wardrobes for a hallway, in the same pale painted style. In the kitchen, the drawer boxes are dovetailed in dark stained oak, and one holds a fitted knife block. Every piece was handmade in our workshop near Horsham and fitted by our own team, and the Granvilved kitchen carries a lifetime guarantee, like every kitchen we make.

Kitchen and Island
In frame cabinetry painted in Slate II surrounds a range cooker set beneath a painted mantel, with an antiqued mirror splashback. The island has a thick, double edged top in satin Dolce Vita granite, a Belfast sink with a brass tap, slender wood inset panels and wood pull out trays behind its doors.
-
Glazed Dresser
Three glazed doors divided by glazing bars are lit from within, beneath a deep cornice. Below the veined top, a built in wine cooler sits between drawers and cupboards with brass handles and knobs.
-
Larder
The tall larder opens on a wood lined interior with shelves, racks on both doors and three drawers, lit along its sides. Open shelves are set into the end of the cabinet.
-
Tall Cupboards
A wall of tall cupboards houses a built in oven above drawers. At its centre, folding doors open on a wood lined breakfast cupboard with lighting, sockets and a television above.
-
Utility
A Belfast sink and brass tap are set into a veined worktop, with wall cupboards lit from beneath and a tall double cupboard with long brass handles. A window seat with cupboards beneath runs along the window, topped in the same veined surface.

Hallway Cupboards and Wardrobes
A long run of tall panelled cupboards with long brass handles lines a hallway beneath a deep cornice. Inside a wardrobe, a wood lined interior is lit along its edges, with a brass hanging rail above three drawers.

Walk Through Granvilved
A short film of the finished kitchen: the tall cupboards, the range under its mirrored splashback and the long island with its marbled worktop.

An antiqued mirror is glass whose silvering has been given a soft, aged look, so it reflects light and colour back into the room without the hard glare of a plain mirror. At Granvilved it sits behind the range cooker, beneath a painted mantel. We have also made antiqued mirror splashbacks for Foxbury, Downend, Munstead Plat, Wrens Hill and Malbrook.

Yes. Unlacquered brass has no protective coat, so it slowly darkens and takes on a patina where hands touch it, and many people choose it for exactly that reason. The Granvilved handles and knobs are from the Merrick collection by Armac Martin, in satin brass. A wax metal polish will brighten them again if you prefer.

A breakfast cupboard keeps the kettle, toaster and coffee machine on a worktop of their own, behind doors that close when they are not in use. At Granvilved, folding doors in the wall of tall cupboards open on a wood lined interior with its own lighting and sockets, with a television above. We liaise with your electrician so that the power is where it is needed.
-
Yes. The Granvilved larder is a tall double cupboard with a wood lined interior. Shelves hold everyday food, both doors carry racks for spices and jars, and three drawers sit below, lit along the sides. Each larder we make is designed for the kitchen it belongs to, and the fittings inside are planned with you at the design stage.
-
Yes. The Granvilved dresser has a wine cooler built into its base, between drawers and cupboards, with lit glazed cabinets above for glassware. Appliances are chosen with you at the design stage, and the housing is then made in our workshop to suit the appliance you have chosen.
-
Yes. At Granvilved we also made a utility with a Belfast sink and a window seat, and a long run of tall cupboards and wardrobes for a hallway, all in the same pale painted style as the kitchen. Planning these rooms together means one production schedule can be coordinated with the rest of your project and the other trades.
