The Lancaster range
Our Lancaster Range, Used Throughout
Our Lancaster range of cabinetry was used throughout Malbrook. Lancaster is our own range, a modern classic that sits perfectly in many period properties, and equally well in newly built homes.
Its character comes from clean lines on both the doors and the framework, set between a subtly profiled plinth and cornice. The plinth is the base that runs along the floor and the cornice is the moulding along the top of the cabinetry, so all of the detail is kept to the top and bottom and everything between them stays clean and simple. That restraint is what lets the range suit older and newer houses alike.
The cabinetry is painted in Farrow & Ball All White, and the island in Farrow & Ball Hague Blue. The pairing is simple and confident: crisp white cabinetry that shows off the clean lines of the range, and a deep blue island that gives the kitchen a strong point of contrast.
Marbled quartz tops are complemented by hand silvered mirror splashbacks. Hand silvered mirror has its silvering applied by hand, and as a splashback it reflects light back into the kitchen and adds a sense of depth to the walls. The marbling gives the worktops gentle movement, and the quartz provides a durable surface for everyday use.
The same range was used for the twin larders and the utility room, so the storage and the working rooms share the clean lines of the kitchen.
The Lancaster range is designed and made by Sylvan Design, a bespoke kitchen maker based in Horsham, West Sussex.

-
Kitchen
The kitchen is made in Lancaster cabinetry painted in Farrow & Ball All White, with marbled quartz tops and hand silvered mirror splashbacks. Clean lines run between the profiled plinth and cornice.
-
Island
The island is painted in Farrow & Ball Hague Blue, a deep blue that contrasts with the white cabinetry. It is made in the same Lancaster range as the rest of the kitchen.
-
Twin Larders
Twin larders give the kitchen a matching pair, made in the Lancaster range like the rest of the project. They add storage without breaking the clean lines of the range.
-
Utility Room
The utility room continues in the Lancaster range, carrying the clean lines of the kitchen into the working side of the house. Laundry and the practical work of the house happen here, out of the kitchen.

The Lancaster range is our own range of cabinetry, and we describe it as a modern classic that sits perfectly in many period properties, and equally well in newly built homes. It has clean lines on both the doors and the framework, between a subtly profiled plinth and cornice, and it was used throughout the Malbrook project.
-
The Malbrook cabinetry is painted in Farrow & Ball All White, and the island in Farrow & Ball Hague Blue. The white keeps the clean lines of the Lancaster range crisp and clear, and the deep Hague Blue makes the island the boldest element of the room.
-
Malbrook has marbled quartz tops, complemented by hand silvered mirror splashbacks. The mirror brings extra light into the room, and the marbled quartz gives a practical work surface with a gentle pattern. Both sit comfortably against the All White cabinetry and the Hague Blue island.
